Serving delicious Italian food by the Southbank, Locale is one of our favourite places to eat in an area that is filled with other overpriced options. Here the food is tasty, plentiful and the service is good too.

Pasta and Risotta is priced at £9 to £14, with meat and fish dishes at £15 to £23, pizzas are all around the £10 mark, and salads are £8 to £10. The calzones in particular are amazing. This location also has a cocktail bar. Locale’s other restaurants are in Fulham and Blackheath.

2. Skylon

If you are after a stunning setting, a beautiful view of the River Thames and delicious food, Skylon may just be the best place on the Southbank. Staff are attentive and the location also includes a full-service bar, and a grill.

This location is a premium experience and prices reflect that, unless you opt for a set menu. A la Carte mains are priced between £24 and £39. A 6-course tasting menu is available for £59 (plus £49 for wine pairings). The set menu for lunch and dinner is £25 for two courses, and £30 for three.

The atmosphere is significantly enhanced if you can secure yourself a table overlooking the river. Reservations are accepted and recommended.

3. Brasserie Joel

Phone: 0207 620 7272

Located inside the Park Plaza Hotel, Brasserie Joel serves authentic French dishes, and has won numerous awards over the years.

The setting is stunning, presentation is beautiful, and service is among the best we have received for a restaurant in this price range. Mains are priced at £14.50 to £32.50. Great value set menus at lunch cost £13.95 for two courses and £15.95 for three courses, and at dinner £16.95 and £19.95 respectively. The dinner set menu is only served until 19:00.
Reservations are accepted and recommended.

4. Troia

Nearest Station: Waterloo
Address: 3f Belvedere Road, County Hall, London, SE1 7GQ
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 23:30, Sunday from 12:00 to 22:30.
Phone: 0207 633 9309

For great quality Turkish by the Southbank, Troia is our top choice. This place has more of a café/bistro feel than a posh dining location, meaning it is more of a relaxed atmosphere. Mains are priced between £10 to £15 with grilled Turkish items, as well as staples such as steaks, pasta, salads and seafood.
