London: Good Hotels in Marylebone, Bloomsbury and Camden

1. St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel

Nearest Station: King’s Cross St. Pancras
Address: Euston Road, London, NW1 2AR
Telephone: 0207 841 3540

This stunning building has only recently come out of a lengthy refurbishment, now cementing it is a one of London’s top 5-star luxury hotels. This Marriott hotel describes itself perfectly: combining “Victorian splendour with contemporary style and impeccable service”. The building has so much history that it even offers tours by Blue Badge guides at an extra charge.

As far as dining, you are spoilt for choice: with a bar and restaurant, a lounge, a terrace overlooking the train station, and an upscale dining establishment. An in-house spa adds to the amenities on offer.

Rooms are relatively large, starting at 25 square metres (270 square feet) on the smallest end of the scale. Prices start at £189 per night.

2. Ibis London Euston St Pancras

Nearest Station: Euston and Euston Square
Address: 3 Cardington Street, Kings Cross, London, NW1 2LW
Telephone: 020 7388 7777

Ibis is a well-known brand that provides well-priced rooms. This particular location is next door to Euston station, and 15 to 20 minutes’ walk from King’s Cross and St. Pancras stations. An in-hotel restaurant and bar provide somewhere to eat, and as you would expect from a budget brand there is no on-site fitness suite or pool.

Rooms are basic and make good use of the space, though bathrooms are small. Rooms start at £79 per night.

3. YHA London St. Pancras
Nearest Station: King’s Cross St. Pancras
Address: 79-81 Euston Road, London, NW1 2QE
Telephone: 0845 371 9344

We consider this hostel to be the best in London. Just a short walk from the tube, YHA London St. Pancras provides basic, but comfortable, beds for a bargain price.

There is a café-bar area that serves light snacks, the staff are friendly and the British Library is just across the road.

Single beds start at £16, with private rooms from £59 per night. Family rooms are also available from £55 per night.
