Kew Gardens, opened in 1840, contains the largest collection of living plants in the world. With over 30,000 distinct types of plants and over seven million plant specimens, the scale of the Gardens cannot be understated.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site features several buildings to explore, plus it boasts a treetop walkway to give you a unique perspective on the woodland below. Tours are offered throughout the day.

Entry to Kew Gardens includes entry to the gardens, plus Kew Palace (built in 1631 as Samuel Fortrey’s country abode), the Royal Kitchens and Queen Charlotte’s Cottage (a retreat from her ‘mad’ husband George III).

The Cottage is only open to visitors at weekends and on Bank Holidays from April to September. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing.

The small palace is open in the summer season only – in 2017 this is from 1st April to 1st October between 10:30 and 17:30. 2018 dates should be available in the Spring.
