The Royal Academy of Arts holds a unique position in that it does not really house a permanent collection, and has constantly changing exhibitions. These exhibitions are all paid entry but the Royal Academy prides itself on providing some of the most interesting and rare exhibitions anywhere in the world, so the cost of admission is usual well worth it.

Talks are also regularly held at the Royal Academy and the vast majority of these are free; there are often other special events too. The Royal Academy also regularly runs one-hour tours covering the art, architecture and history of the building. Check the website for the exact timings of the tours – the tours are free, but donations are welcome.
