Working at Disneyland Paris 2014 - Day 17 to 49 - 6 weeks - Days off, settling in at work and sorting out lifeSunday 22nd June to Thursday 24th July

So "time flies when you're having fun" as the old motto goes, and it certainly has flown by. Last time I worked at Disneyland Paris I did a daily blog but that simply wouldn't be possibly as a long-term thing, nor would it be very interesting as some days are pretty much the same as others. So here are some of the things that I have done or have happened over the past month.

1. Cast Member Party
Every 6 months Disneyland Paris hosts a party to celebrate how awesome all of the Cast Members are (this may be my own perspective on things). For the party, an area of Backstage is cleared out and the put up all kinds of food stalls, set up a stage and then wait for the evening. The evening usually starts at 5PM and goes on until about 2AM and we get as much food as we want (it was really good - everything from churros to burger…

Working at Disneyland Paris 2014 - Day 5 to 16 - Training time

Working at Disneyland Paris 2014 - Day 5 to 16 - Training time In my last post, I discussed my first few days in France before I officially started working for Disney. This post is all about the training that got me to where I am today.

Day 5 - Tuesday, 10th June 2014 - Traditions
Anyone who knows anyway about working for Disney knows that the Traditions class is one of the most highly anticipated pieces of training. This was my third traditions and to be honest, I was not looking forward to it as I expected it to be a lot of repetition of what I had done on my last contract at Disneyland Paris in 2011, and at Traditions at Walt Disney World.

I have got to say I was pleasantly surprised, although the content was much the same our formateur was great and he really added life to what could otherwise have been a rather repetitive day for me. Yes, there was a LOT of repetition (and the content of this day is a closely guarded secret), but it was more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

Working at Disneyland Paris 2014 - Day 1 to 4 - In the beginning... It's a cliché but time flies when you're having fun - and oh, how the last month has flown by. So this is my effort to update you on what's been happening. We'll start from Day 1...

Day 1 - Friday 6th June
After getting the Eurostar to Disneyland Paris, I got the train over to Val d'Europe and checked in for my contract at the Fantasia building. It didn't take more than a couple of minutes and as I had a couple of hours to spare until I had my housing meeting I went for lunch. Then, at about 3:30pm I and a few others got in a van and set off to our new apartments, everyone else was in Les Pleiades, the Disney residences and I was only round the corner from Fantasia. Nevertheless, I was happy for the ride as it killed some time.

After the others had been dropped off, I chatted with the lady who had sorted my housing. She told me she'd been working at Disneyland Paris for 20 years now and had…
