Walt Disney World ICP - Day Zero - Overnight in Gatwick - Sunday, 2nd June 2013

It was the day before departure and the plan was to get there a day early so we could sleep in a hotel overnight and get up a bit fresher the next morning. So, on Sunday I got the tube into central London. Annoying the Gatwick Express wasn’t running today but tickets were valid on all Southern services instead. Not ideal, but at least there was someway of getting to Gatwick Airport. It was really packed but then they declassified first class so I got to sit there instead. Not too bad.

At the airport I met Joe from my uni course and I went and did Twilght checkin with Virgin Atlantic. Basically, it means you can leave your check in and leave your bags overnight so you don’t have to get up as early the next morning. Great service, but the queue was really long when I went at around 5:45pm, it seemed to get shorter as the day went on.

After that I went and dropped off my bags at the Premier Inn at Gatwick North Terminal and I can definitely recommend it. Really nice, good price and it has a great location which is just across the road from the North terminal.

After chilling in the room for a bit we went to Wetherspoons for some dinner and I saw Dan my future housemate there which was cool. We all got chatting and had a few drinks, as well as some ice cream sundaes and an english breakfast which was great. All in all a good end to the night.

At the hotel we tried to get an early night by going to bed at 11:30pm. It wasn’t going to happen and I ended up tossing and turning for over 2 hours before I finally got to sleep.
