This luxury, 5-star hotel’s origins date back to 1689. As well as the classic rooms and suites, there are six self-contained apartments too. An on-site restaurant, afternoon tea experience, a conservatory area, a spa and a fitness room are just some of the on-site amenities. Rooms start at £266 per night.

EasyHotel is our new favourite budget chain when needing a no-frills place to stay. From the creators of low-cost airline EasyJet, this is an affordable and clean accommodation option in central London.

If you will just be spending a few hours in your hotel room each day, don’t need luxury facilities and want to save some money, then we highly recommend EasyHotel.

As the hotels are all brand new or recently refurbished, you won’t find aging rooms here. 
When we say these hotels are no frills, that really is the case – the cheapest rooms don’t even have windows and are very small; TV and Wi-Fi access are optional, and charged extra.

This particular location is close to a tube station and a 15-minute walk to Kensington’s museums. Like the other EasyHotel locations, it is cheap and clean. 
Rooms start £29 per night. There is another EasyHotel location nearby in South Kensington.

3. The Villa Kensington

This 3-star hotel provides affordable accommodation, and is a 10-minute walk from the Kensington Museums. 

An onsite café-style restaurant and bar, serves a full English breakfast at a bargain £5.50 and a continental breakfast is included in most room rates.

It’s an upgrade from the aforementioned EasyHotel in terms of comfort and location, but this is by no means a luxurious place to stay. The 3-star rating is deserved in our opinion.

It’s been about six weeks since the end of my Disney World International College Program contract and I thought I’d write a retrospective piece summing up my experience. I’m going to very quickly get those of you who didn’t read my blog up to speed. London: Things to do and Events in February Chinese New Year Image: Paul (Flickr) 18th February 2018 Although Chinese New Year itself is on the 8th February in 2016, the celebrations will be held on the subsequent weekend.  You can celebrate the start of the Year of the Monkey all around the West End with events held on Trafalgar Square and Chinatown from 10:00 to 18:00. London’s Chinese New Year celebrations are the largest outside Asia, with parades, performances and fireworks.  At 10:00 a large lion parade makes its way from Trafalgar Square to Chinatown; from 12:00 onwards stage performances are held; and at 17:20 the grand finale begins as dancers and acrobats take to the stage, and pyrotechnics illuminate Nelson’s Column.
