Kings Cross station is a beautiful work of architecture. However, it’s what is inside the station that counts – for Harry Potter fans at least.

Fans of the Wizarding boy will remember that King’s Cross Station (and more specifically Platform 9 ¾) is where the Hogwarts Express departs from.

Due to the success of the films and books, a photo opportunity with a luggage trolley was put in place between platforms 9 and 10.

As this was causing congestion on the platforms, the photo op has now been relocated to the left of the large departure boards in the waiting hall.

This is a very popular spot year-round, so there is a queuing system for the photo opportunity - waits can be long (over 30 minutes) on a popular day.

You can take your own photos or get a professional paid one done at this location.
To the left of this is a shop that sells all manner of Harry Potter merchandise – from Hogwarts scarves to wands, and key-rings to copies of the books.

If you are catching a train from here anyway, this can be a fun way to while away a few minutes.
