Located in an old power station, the Tate Modern features a variety of permanent and temporary modern art exhibitions from around the world.

This is an interesting museum that deserves a few hours of your time, and where there is always something new and thought provoking to see. The museum’s displays are free, but temporary exhibitions are paid admission.

The New Tate Modern opened in 2016 and added 60% more exhibition space - though a large part of this new building remains empty.

Top Tip: Head to to the top floor of this new building for an incredible view over the city. Note that in this new building there are only four lifts that take you to the 10th floor viewing gallery and waits can be astronomical - take the stairs instead from the 4th floor.
